We offer experiential learning opportunities, like build-your-own-canoe week or build-your-own-toboggan weekend. You will be assisted in learning to build your own canoe or toboggan from the mentor-ship and guidance of our master canoe builders. Our family homestead is onsite for your accommodation. We will be with you every step of the way.
Build-your-own canoe experience: Stay with us over a seven-day period, you will learn to steam and bend ribs over our canoe form, plank the canoe with brass tacks and cedar planking, install the gunwales, thwarts and seats, stretch the canvas and fill it. Once it is filled, it will need to cure for about 4-6 weeks, after the curing process you will come back for a couple days to varnish the inside, paint the outside, dress it up with brass stem bends and it is ready to go!

Build-your-own toboggan experience: A two-day experience, where you will steam and bend ash over our toboggan mold, and varnish and finish it for years of enjoyment.
